Good quote-from December 22, 2008
No man can come to Me, except the Father which hath sent Me draw him.
John 6:44
“Every man is made to reach out beyond his grasp. It is God who draws
me, and my relationship to Him in the first place is a personal one,
not an intellectual one. I am introduced into the relationship by the
miracle of God and my own will to believe, then I begin to get an
intelligent appreciation and understanding of the wonder of the
transaction.”
Oswald Chambers
This concept that our being willing precedes God’s work within us as we cooperate with his purposes is meaning more and more to me. It is within me to try to do things by sheer effort and determination. Nothing eternal seems to be accomplished this way. Lasting things seems to always start by a choice on our part and then a willingness to be part of the process which God is achieving. It requires listening and cooperation on our part. God is the most crucial part of this equation.
